Réservation. The time table is open for the next 21 days, which enable to avoid overbooking. Travels may be booked very long time before in such a way to enable pilots to organize themselves. Apart specific cases (instruction planes and tail wing wheel planes), planes can be reserved for long periods, with a minimum activity of 2 hours per day (3 hours per week-end day).

Planes for instruction. Avions-école. Some planes are told to be "plane for instruction" : they can be reserved only for flights with instructor. Nevertheless, they can be used for solo flight if they are available.

Etiquette. Pilots are invited to have a kind behavior with planes, other pilots and the rest of the world, there is no way that pilots behave as primary car drivers. Folowing items are demanded:

  • Think "Safety"
Errors are accepted but two practices are not forgiven : flyin IFR with no qualification and flying low altitude. All flying instructors are entitled to act if they watch some situation where safety is not respected.
  • Respect planes
The flying club owns planes, but pilots are Members. Respecting planes ensure a longer life et also the safety of our own flights.
  • Respect Fueling
Atthe end of every flight, pilots are to refuel their plane, unless the contrary request of the following pilot. This simple rule of politness enable to avoid mortal issues when pilot A consumes all his fuel during his flight, lets the plane to pilot B who does not respect a good check-list and takes off without fuel... The lifetime of pilot B and his passengers is then severly compromised.

Paperasse (Papers). In order to facilitate the common life inside the flying club, pilots are invited to fill in some formalities :

  • Before flying
Checking in on the day sheet with printing the plane callsign, the number of passengers and the intentions. This information is very useful for the rescue organization in case of accident.
  • After flying
Filling in the day sheet with prinitng the flight length, filling in the rout log of the plane, paying for the flight amount.

Flight Instruction. When arriving, the pilot student is introduced to a FI whom he will keep all along his instruction, apart incompatibility. The "declaration of instruction form" is filled in by the secretariat, signed on by the FI before being sent to the Authorities. The instruction file of the student is filled in by the FI at the end of every lesson. The flying booklet of the student is filled is since his first flight.

Every FI are entitled to give theoritical lessons and students must have obtained their ground examination before training cross country flights. A special leson is given on the last Friday evening of every month.

Travels. Flying long distance is welcome in our flying club. On every year, one or more travels are organized to foreign countries (Balearic Islands, Morocco, Greece, Tunisie...). English lessons are organized to prepare these flights.

Moutain flights. ACAM owns a D140 "Mousquetaire" and has also a "Moutain" FI. The moutain flights activity could developp since 1990 and on every year, 3 to 5 pilots get their rating to fly in mountains. These flights happen during one day starting from Aix en Provence but it is also possible to organize full weeks on a mountain airfield (Saint-Crépin, Alpes d'Huez for instance).
